MOCA is committed to raising awareness of ovarian cancer, its symptoms and the importance of early detection and proper treatment. We work to achieve this aspect of our mission by participating in community events and health fairs. We give away teal ribbon pins and symptom cards as well as information about our organization.

If you would like to help us staff a MOCA/ovarian cancer information table or booth, please e-mail Kristen Larson at klarson@mnovarian.org or call her at (612) 822-0500.

Ovarian Cancer Survivors Training Medical Students
Every six weeks, MOCA conducts training sessions with third and fourth year medical students at the University of Minnesota starting their six-week ob/gyn rotation. Ovarian cancer survivors present their stories to the students and then open the floor to questions.

Grand Rounds
It is critical that primary care physicians are better able to detect signs and symptoms that may be indicative of ovarian cancer in order to bring about earlier detection and ultimately, a better prognosis for patients. Because of this, Grand Rounds was initiated by MOCA in 2002 in order to educate physicians about ovarian cancer.
