Ruth Gaylord

Description of square.
The square is designed around the musical piano scale with the Treble Clef being the beginning. It also represents the beginning of life. God has given us life and what is to follow. The notes on the scale represent the JOY, LOVE, HAPPINESS or PEACE that is there for each of us during our life. We may have ills to weather, but the way we play our song is the way our life turns out. The heart in the corner is for the love that Ruth has given her family and friends.

What would you like to tell us about the woman being honored?
Ruth Gaylord is my sister. We have both had cancer. She – ovarian cancer, Me – breast cancer. Our dad always said, “we play the hand we are dealt”. He loved to play cards. Ruth has been a musician most of her life. She plays piano, teaches piano, teaches chorus and signs. Music is part of her being. Through music she praises God and continues to praise Him for her life. I am healed and believe with all my heart that she also is healed through the might power of God.

Marie Pitre – sister of Ruth Gaylord, who is being honored with the quilt piece. I am pleased to be able to make this quilt square for Ruth. It helped me feel that bond that we share, not only from our cancers, but most of all to claim our healing.
