Name of woman being honored by the square.
Mary Katherine Thibeau

Description of square.
A bear in the north woods.

What would you like to tell us about the woman being honored?
Following surgery, my friend Lynn Fena, decided I needed to be ferocious in getting rid of the cancer in my body. Lynn has always believed the bear is her animal spirit. She sent me a bear claw to wear to keep me focused on being ferocious. My husband decided to wear a bear claw as did my mother, my brothers, sisters, sons, and book club ladies. There are about 25 family and friends with bear claw bracelets, chains or pins joining me in ferocious resolve to rid my body of cancer.

I made this quilt square to honor all the people who are supporting me through their prayers, emails, cards and especially those who cook, clean, run errands and take me for walks. Without them, I would not be a survivor.

Quilter contributing square and their relationship to the person being honored.
