Name of woman being honored by the square.
Kristin Warn

Description of square.
Kris’ square is of an angel. At the top of the square it says “Always in our Hearts.” I selected an angel for her square because she collected angels of all kinds.

What would you like to tell us about the woman being honored?
I would like to tell you that Kris was an incredible person. She was constantly thinking of other people and figuring out ways that she could do things for them. For example, when she took photos, she always got double prints so she could give them away. When there was a birthday, she always had a gift ready. Kris was the person who planned our family gatherings. She would drop what she was doing to help her family and friends with their needs and concerns.

Typical to her nature, when Kris was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she wanted to make sure that women with her type of cancer were supported and educated, so she co-founded MOCA with her friend Molly Cade. Kris also had a heart for people with other types of cancer, and so she was very active with the American Cancer Society’s Bloomington Relay for Life. She served on their committee and was the co-chair of their 2000 event. She was the captain of her own relay team for four years. During these years, Kris also worked at her job in the Human Resource division of William M. Mercer, Inc. She was undergoing chemotherapy during much of this time.

When it became apparent to Kris and to those closest to her that her struggle with cancer would soon be over, she often voiced her fear that people would forget about her. We'd smile and lovingly tell her that there isnt' a single person that she had had contact with who would forget her. It would be impossible to forget that beautiful smile and woman. Kris is…”Always in our Hearts.”
