We remember the spring of 2002, when a group of friends and family of Merle and Jill Rosenberg came together with the hope of finding a way to do something to aid them in their fight against ovarian cancer, a disease that eventually took their lives. That first meeting was the genesis of “A Toast to Life”, which became an annual fundraising event to benefit Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance’s (MOCA) research grant program. In the last seven years “A Toast to Life “has raised $385,000 for MOCA.

We know this past year has been a difficult year financially for most people, yet we did not want to stop doing whatever we could to continue our efforts to help fund this important research. When life was tough for Merle and Jill they just worked harder to make wonderful things happen. Rather than planning a lavish and costly event, we determined that it would be more respectful to simply ask you, people who knew and cared for these two remarkable Rosenberg women, to remember them by making a contribution to MOCA.

We know how important MOCA was to both Merle and Jill as they became educated about ovarian cancer. They spent their time tirelessly educating others about their disease as well as organizing activities for survivors of all ages and planning fundraising events. It was their fervent hope that MOCA would continue to be a source of hope and strength to those women who are currently battling this disease so that they would never have to face this alone.

We remember Jill’s funeral where we heard a song written by Jeffrey Victor and sung by Jeff and his wife, Judy, at Jill’s request. Many of you asked for a recording of the song. Jeff and Judy were kind enough to record this song for MOCA as well as other music written, performed and produced by Jeff. This CD is MOCA’s gift to you for your past generosity and in the hope that you will continue to contribute to this research fund that meant so much to Merle and Jill.

We remember them.
